This winter has got to stop! Single digit temperatures as a high for the norm is not normal! About a month ago, Barney and I laid out plans to build a greenhouse. We got the materials, started to build the structure, and then were hit with snow. Lots of snow. And the snow keeps on coming!
With the single digit temperatures causing a lack of snow melt, and more snow piling on top of it, the greenhouse progress has stopped. Now it is having an effect on the time table I had planned for my earliest seeds. I was hoping this week to have planted my eggplants and peppers since these seeds that take the most germination period and need to be hefty plants by the time they go in the ground. Alas, the winter has other plans. There is no point in planting seeds if there is no light source for them once they sprout. (We have very few good windows and no southern facing ones.)
